Angela Neal – President
Angela is a returning Board member having served as President-Elect (2019-2020) and EVP of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) – 2016-2019. She is a servant leader with a wealth of management experience and has supported fortune 500 companies and start-ups establish or improve their e-commerce and marketing strategies. In addition to leading AMA DFW, Angela is the founder of Just The Heart, LLC, a creative designs and services company attentively delivering custom and motion graphics, marketing support, and insights for brands serious about their image.
Angela’s track record as a forward-thinking, creative, and analytically competent leader spans multiple verticals ranging from aerospace to telecommunications, healthcare to insurance, automotive, sports, and more. Some of her successes include creating trajectories with 100% accuracy as part of Ascent Flight Design and Dynamics for NASA Shuttle Missions, recognition as a Spotlight Business of the Super Bowl XLV Emerging Business Program, and 2018 Marketer of the Year for work submitted in the insurance category.
In addition to Angela’s dedication to AMA DFW, she enjoys mentoring and encouraging others, and opportunities to speak to groups on lessons learned and helpful strategies towards achieving goals.
Angela holds a BS Mathematics from Spelman College, MS Mathematics from Tennessee Technological University, Executive MBA from UTD, and BFA Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Dallas. She enjoys spending most of her free time with family, traveling, championing an insanity work-out, or maintaining postures in Bikram Yoga.
Brad B. McCormick – President Emeritus
Brad B. McCormick is a Principal at 10 Louder, a Dallas-based Digital Marketing Strategy Consultancy. Brad also teaches Digital Marketing Strategy and B2B Digital Marketing at SMU’s Global & Online Program.
Brad has two decades of agency experience in helping B2C & B2B companies create brand equity in the digital world. A native Texan, Brad spent the majority of his agency career in New York City. He has held titles as Senior Digital Producer, Senior Digital Strategist, Global Digital Director, and Chief Strategy Officer.
Brad works with a long list of clients spanning a broad range of industries, with strategic digital experience in the CPG (Gillette, Kellogg, LEGO), technology (Cisco, HP, XEROX PARC), health care (Johnson & Johnson, Novartis,Epocrates), government (US Dept. of Homeland Security, Council on Foreign Relations), Food (McDonald’s, Perdue, Keebler) and nonprofit (Smokey Bear, Girl Scouts) sectors.
His team’s work has been recognized by Communication Arts, the Webby Awards, SXSWi and the One Show.
Brad holds a BS in Creative Advertising and a BA in American Studies/Liberal Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. Brad is also a Certified ScrumMaster® in agile project management.
Steve Krakosky – EVP Membership
Steve is an accomplished sales and marketing professional with 20+ years of experience focused on providing print & marketing solutions in primary decoration, commercial print, promotional products and branded apparel. He has successfully spent his career building relationships with some of the most trusted brands focusing on enhancing brand identity, increasing productivity, and driving sales. He has been efficiently selling and producing high quality products as well as delivering exceptional service while at the same time exceeding customer expectations for the length of his career.
Steve serves as Senior Account Executive at Accelerate Print Group, a Plano, TX based company that focuses on helping marketing professionals execute their brand strategy through Traditional Marketing channels such as commercial & large format print, packaging, branded apparel and promotional products.
Bailey Snavely – EVP Volunteers
Bailey serves as the International Marketing and Public Relations Specialist at DFW International Airport, the fourth busiest Global Super Hub in the world and home to the world’s largest airline. She utilizes her international experience by leading in-country teams to grow passenger seats through Demand Marketing strategies. In addition to her named role at DFW Airport, she is the trainer for all 2,000 DFW employees for branded design and presentations.
Prior to DFW Airport, she worked in Doha, Qatar with project teams on FIFA World Cup Stadium construction consulting proposals, honing in strategies and training project teams.
Bailey earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing at Texas A&M University where she was an Ambassador for Mays Business School as a MB Zale Scholar. In 2018 she became a Certified Graphic Designer through the Southern Methodist University CAPE Program and continues to develop in her career through professional education.
She is known to “Engage and Inspire” which makes her a textbook fit her role within AMA as EVP of Volunteers.
Amy Bonanno – EVP of Communications
Amy is a returning board member serving as the EVP of Communications.
Amy is a client-driven professional with over 12 years of experience in sales, account management, online marketing, and business management. Her experience spans the industries within retail, technology, telecommunications, vitamins/wellness, restaurants, manufacturing and healthcare. Amy has successfully proven results in developing marketing strategies that build brand awareness and increase market share. Her invaluable ability to build & lead professional teams to success contributes to her unparalleled efforts to champion results for her clients.
She is known for her creative insights and innovation as well as her ability to communicate and build strong relationships. She has found her calling in developing highly collaborative and impactful teams.
When she is not managing and team building she is a wife and mother of 2 sweet boys. She loves doing yoga, cooking and reading mystery novels.
Dr. Julie Haworth – EVP Collegiate Relations
Julie has a background in corporate marketing, teaching and program administration. In the corporate setting, she has worked in marketing for companies including Procter and Gamble, Maybelline and the Mary Kay Corporation. From a teaching standpoint, she has taught in a part-time or full-time basis for University of Texas at Arlington and since 2001 for University of Texas at Dallas. While at UT Dallas, she introduced and has run the Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree since 2010 serving roughly 500 marketing students as the program director and AMA Faculty Adviser. Her degrees include a BFA in Journalism-PR from Southern Methodist University, MBA-Marketing from University of Texas at Austin and a PhD in Public Affairs from UT Dallas. Her research focuses on water conservation behavior. Her family includes Bryan Haworth, husband, and grown children Cori, Callie and Luke. She loves tennis and hiking.
Tom Dennis – President Emeritus
He is the immediate past President of the chapter. In 2010 he helped transform the organization into one of the top chapters in the country and in 2012 he was recognized as the American Marketing Association’s “National Volunteer of the Year.”
He is VP of Brand Strategy at ExperiPro, a marketing insights and brand strategy firm. For 30 years, he has combined his passion for both marketing and sales to help companies craft their story, strengthen their culture, and engage with their target market. Active on social media, with a background in software, fine paper and printing, Tom brings a unique skill set to every client engagement.
Tom is an instructor at SMU where he teaches a class on Digital Branding and Engagement. He has served on the board of the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce and the Dallas Society of Visual Communications. In 2010, Tom co-found 1st Tuesday Connections, a Texas not-for-profit dedicated to providing educational programing for North Texas entrepreneurs. In 2014, the group became a part of the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce where he continues to serve on the guiding committee.
Saving the world one brand at a time, Tom is a frequent speaker on the importance of branding and company culture.
In his spare time, he is an avid roller coaster enthusiast and a collector of Chuck Taylor High-Tops.
Louis A. Bergmann III – Treasurer
With more than 25 years of financial and management experience, Louis assists in the oversight of the financial operations of Moroch Partners. Louis’s responsibilities include management of the Financial Services team.
Louis’ day-to-day responsibilities include; strategic planning, forecasting; budget management; financial statement presentation; treasury and asset management; policy development; IRS and GAAP compliance.
Louis’s prior experience includes financial roles with R&R Partners, Warren, Averett, Kimbrough & Marino, AON Consulting, Invesco Financial Services Group and Municipal Funding of Illinois.
He is a member of Financial Management team for Moroch; Served two terms (4 years) as the Accounting Leader SIG (Special Interest Group) for the Advantage Advisory Council and served two terms (4 years) as the Agency Recruitment SIG for the Advantage Advisory Council. Served 4 years as an Advisory Board Member for CSI (Corporate Spending Innovations).
Karen Conway-Gelfand – Board Secretary
With 25+ years in corporate, agency and consulting roles, Karen has successfully leveraged her marketing and communications experience for companies and brands in a variety of industries.
Karen currently serves as a marketing consultant for AETolls, a toll industry startup, where she leads the D-FW marketing and communications activities for tapNpay, a FinTech SaaS toll payment solution. Before AETolls, Karen was tapped by Madrid, Spain-based Cintra as marketing director for its Dallas and Tarrant County transportation infrastructure projects. In addition to developing and implementing all marketing strategies, branding initiatives, digital assets, ad campaigns, creative and more for the LBJ TEXpress Lanes and NTE TEXpress Lanes, Karen also drove the branding and marketing for the I-77 Express lanes in Charlotte, N.C.
Prior to Cintra, Karen spent 20 years in assorted field, regional and corporate retail real estate marketing positions including planning and implementing go-to-market marketing and PR strategies for a dozen large shopping and entertainment centers under construction in the U.S., Spain and Canada.
Karen is a longtime member of the American Marketing Association and has served on the boards of several nonprofits. She and her husband Jeff live in Dallas with two spoiled Belgian Malinois. During her downtime Karen fuels her food obsession by cooking (and dining out), spice hunting, herb gardening and expanding her collection of several hundred cookbooks.
Trinidad Aguirre, MBA – EVP Analytics and Insights
Trinidad is a United States Navy veteran with more than 23 years of leadership and management experience. He has worked with several global senior leadership teams, from SMB to Fortune 500 corporations, to help bring the “art of possible” to life with strategic thinking, analytics, insights, and operational excellence.
Trinidad’s servant leadership approach has had a successful legacy of building, mentoring and enabling teams to embrace data-driven strategies, innovate to build digital marketing solutions and optimize performance to meet or exceed the business objective.
Trinidad’s diverse industry experience utilized both B2B and B2C marketing disciplines. His work experience ranges from Fortune 150 corporations like CBRE and Verizon to agency/start-up companies.
He currently mentor’s military veterans as they transition from active duty to civilian, serves on the Dallas AMA executive board and was a former board member to the Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Trinidad spends most of his free time with his family spending his weekends supporting his son’s baseball team, taking the family camping, selling girl scout cookies or doing some serious grilling with a frosty beverage.
Shyra Smith, EVP of Luncheons
Shyra is the Principal at HS3 Marketing Solutions, a marketing agency offering personalized end-to-end design and consulting services to organizations, start-ups, and small to midsize companies. With over 20 years of marketing experience, Shyra uses her skills to help clients capitalize on ways to improve their growth, revenue, and reputation. Whether it’s brand development, strategic planning, digital marketing, event management or any of the business solutions offered, Shyra is dedicated to giving her clients an “experience” when working with her. She goes above and beyond and aims to leave her clients with not only an impression worth remembering; but most importantly, with the results they seek to have. Shyra holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and also studied Psychology. Along with marketing, Shyra is also passionate about personal growth and business development. She enjoys pouring into our youth and also mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs about the steps in getting their new businesses up and running. In her book, “Don’t Quit Your Day Job”, Shyra shares her own personal journey into entrepreneurship. She exhibits her altruistic nature at every opportunity by giving back and volunteering with organizations that allow her to do what she loves. A list of Shyra’s favorite things to do includes traveling, experiencing new restaurants, engaging into inspirational books and movies, and letting her creativity loose in the kitchen. She and her husband, Howard have 2 sons and they reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Stephanie Chavez, CTSM, EVP Special Interest Groups
Stephanie Chavez, CTSM, is a nationally recognized marketing executive and speaker who is equally passionate about growing businesses and mentoring others. When she isn’t leading marketing initiatives at her “day job,” Stephanie shares her sales and marketing expertise through affiliations with numerous professional and collegiate organizations. She is an esteemed member of the CMO Club, serves as Executive Vice-President of American Marketing Association-DFW Special Interest Groups, and was named a Cynopsis Top Women in Media honoree. In addition, Stephanie loves sharing her insights on digital marketing with students at Texas Woman’s University, where she speaks twice a year. In December 2019, Stephanie received her certification as a Certified Trade Show Marketer from Exhibitor Media and Northern Illinois University. This was a rigorous, three-year program, ending in a 124-page thesis.
During a career that spans more than 15 years, Stephanie transformed a startup digital marketing firm into an international player with sales in the millions. As Marketing Director at The Trade Group, she built an internal marketing department from the ground up and grew an inbound sales engine from zero to a multi-million dollar revenue generator, in just a few short years. In her current role as Global CMO for Zen Media, Stephanie heads up the overarching strategy for the company as well as their clients – turning companies into industry titans through strategic PR and marketing initiatives.
Stephanie lives with her husband in Lucas, Texas and has two grown children.
Kim Geer, EVP Marketing
Kim is a senior strategist and integrated marketing professional with over 20 years’ experience with marketing strategies and tactics in B2C and B2B industries, including startups and Fortune 100 organizations. Her experience has offered her roles in medical, telecom, criminal justice, fantasy sports, manufacturing, software, information systems, computers, K-12 and higher education. Kim’s focus has been managing brands with customer-driven marketing strategies, integrated campaigns, targeted marketing, and innovative partnerships. Kim excels at analyzing statistical data, user behavior and segmentation results to identify opportunities for improving and optimizing channel management, conversion rates, decreasing costs and increasing results. Kim holds a MBA from the University of Colorado.
