Through full-time roles and consulting work, Laura has applied her extensive skills and unique experience to help new and established companies clarify their brand value, align their marketing strategies with business goals, and find new levels of success in social media.
Prior to her current roll as head of the new Marketing and Communications department at American First Finance, Laura owned her own agency, L+K Communications, overseeing brand identity, social media and content strategy, email marketing, paid media and event management for various clients. Before L&K Communications, she was at the helm of WorldVentures Holdings’ award-winning global social media and digital marketing strategies, also leading corporate reputation, public relations, crisis communication, advertising and influencer marketing. Prior to her tenure at WorldVentures Holdings, Laura managed the marketing, events and visitor experience for four botanical gardens in Wellington, New Zealand, and was an Emmy-nominated television producer for NBC and CBS affiliate stations.

Jamie Kernohan, MBA is a marketing and advertising enthusiast. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing, advertising and media industry in Dallas. Her expertise lies within the range of Marketing and Brand Strategy, Content Strategy and Execution, Video Production, Event Planning, Product Development, Communications and Media Planning and Buying from clients such as, Dillard’s, Pepsi, Subway, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Honda/Acura (media budget of over $15 million), Mary Kay (launched $75 million dollar skin care line), World Ventures- Rovia Travel ($6 million budget branded experience), SMU Cox CMC, she also served as an adjunct marketing professor at Collin College, UTD and most recently Social Media Content Strategist for SMU Cox School of Business Career Management Center where she single handedly increased followers and engagement for the center by over 1200%.
When she’s not launching a new social strategy or creating video content for a client with her own company endeavor, GVC Marketing, she can be found volunteering and speaking at the ATD, AWM, AAF, AMA, Frisco Women’s League, NCL, Memorial High School (her son attends) and the Frisco Chamber to help people recognize their brand and what it can do for them.
Jamie lives in Frisco with her Irish husband and two active teenagers, her daughter is a cheerleader at Staley Middle School and her son, a junior, who is the official videographer for the Memorial Warriors Football team @kerno_video (on twitter) and Rico- their white and tan Cavachon dog, who sits at home waiting for a lap to sit on.
